Cargo Vehicles: Facilitating Easy Transportation of Goods

One of the best options for transporting goods from one place to another and doing away with the hassle of making several trips in your van or car is to hire a cargo vehicle. Cargo vehicles are box shaped trailers or semi trailers used to carry goods from one place to another. The size of these vehicles depends on their capacity to hold cargo and the requirements of the people using these vans or trucks. The design of these vehicles may be similar to that of family passenger vans in case of small sizes, but the bigger ones are more like trucks. The capacity of cargo trucks is much higher than that of vans and they often have cargo guards to separate the rear cargo area from the cab section. Cargo vehicles are generally used by courier companies, manufacturing industry and movers and packer companies.

Features of Cargo Vehicles

The basic feature of cargo vehicles is that they should be designed in such a way to facilitate easy transportation of goods. This means they need to have adequate space, sliding rear doors with ramp facilities to allow quick and easy loading and unloading of heavy items. A cargo vehicle can be a box shaped trailer or semi trailer and can also be designed in such a way to carry any type of goods or refrigerated vans that are used for transporting cold goods. Since the major purpose of these vehicles is to carry goods, they do not have windows in the rear cargo area. Some manufactures replace the rear glass with solid panels while offering buyers an option to choose from a solid panel or glass configurations.

Cargo vehicles are generally designed to have two parts wherein the front end has the cab body which includes the driver and passenger seats and the latter end has storage space for goods.

In cases where the cargo to be transported is big and heavy, box trucks may be used. These box trucks have separate box like cargo areas sitting on a frame. While in most cases the cargo areas of these trucks cannot be accessed from the cab, some manufacturers modify the design to allow access to cargo section from the cab itself. Such trucks are ideal for hauling big items like furniture, appliances, large boxes etc. The cargo sections of these vehicles usually have an aluminum load floor that is completely flat or a high capacity surface to facilitate easy storage. Several manufacturers also offer to upgrade the storage capacity depending on their customer requirements.
